
這張圖裡,可以見到兩種小提琴E弦微調樣式,分別是所謂圈狀 (Loop End)與球狀(Ball End),圈狀平常我們也稱勾狀。這兩種弦尾的樣式,分別對應兩種不同的小提琴微調:單鉤對應 Loop End、雙鉤對應 Ball End。正常情形下,兩者不應混用。圈狀與球狀弦本質上一樣,該選擇何種弦尾,就必須從選擇微調器來決定了。
雙鉤微調比較好旋轉,對初學者較有利。但是在聲音上表現不若單鉤。對聲音的影響來自:雙鉤重量較重(約5克)、弦長變短,結果是弦的泛音、震動較少,此外還有個副作用,是止弦板下方經常因為微調桿頂壞面板。但是因為它較易旋轉,對初學者還是有足夠的利基,畢竟在這時的樂器、與發聲敏感上,還不需如專業般斤斤計較時,方便學習調音是最重要的。要注意的是,避免微調壓壞面板、不裝用Loop End 弦。
單鉤微調幾乎是所有職業音樂家的選擇,單一重量約3.5克,可維持弦長比例與其他弦的正確關係,也不會壓壞面板。但是因為它的槓桿短,在許多情形下它
難以轉動 (透過適當調整,有時是可以改善的)。另外,因為弦張掛的力量集中在單點,也容易從勾掛處斷弦。
解決易斷弦的問題,除了適度在鉤彎處打磨外,可以選購(上圖)中所示的 String Protector,一組八個、可重複使用。
單鉤微調在聲音的表現上,確是優於雙鉤許多,只略遜於不用微調。使用單鉤應該正確配用Loop End的弦,若是剛好手邊沒有Loop End,用Ball End 充數雖無不可,但要注意單鉤的角度避免過高、造成弦與橋的夾角過大,對聲音非常不利。
Ball End 使用單鉤,最好的對策是加上所謂的Ball-End Adapter(如上圖),雖然增加一點重量,實際使用起來,音色表現非常優秀。
初學者可以四個都裝雙鉤,待熟悉調音後,G、D弦再慢慢改用弦栓調音,在進化到只用e弦微調,至此就可以視情形改用單鉤微調。

It is important to avoid trimming crushing the panel, and do not install the loop end string.

The single hook trimmer is the choice of almost all professional musicians, and the single weight is about 3.5 grams, which can maintain the correct relationship between the scale length ratio and other strings, and will not crush the panel. But because of its short lever, it is difficult to turn in many situations (sometimes this can be improved with proper adjustment). In addition, because the power of the string hanging is concentrated at a single point, it is easy to break the string from the hook.
To solve the problem of easily broken strings, in addition to moderately sanding the hook and bend, you can purchase the String Protector shown in the above picture, a set of eight, which can be reused.
The single-hook fine-tuning is indeed much better than the double-hook in terms of sound performance, only slightly worse than no fine-tuning. When using a single hook, the loop end string should be used correctly. If there is no loop end at hand, it is absolutely necessary to use the ball end to recharge, but pay attention to the angle of the single hook to avoid too high, causing the angle between the string and the bridge to be too large, which will affect the sound. Very unfavorable.
Ball End uses a single hook. The best solution is to add the so-called Ball-End Adapter (as shown in the picture above). Although it adds a little weight, the sound performance is very good in actual use.
Beginners can install all four double hooks. After they are familiar with the tuning, the G and D strings are gradually switched to the pegs for tuning. After they have evolved to only use the E string for fine tuning, they can switch to single hook fine tuning depending on the situation.
